     Weathering is the change in physical form or in the chemical composition of rock material exposed to the Earth's surface.
There are two types of weathering-
~Physical/Mechanical
~Chemical
    Physical Weathering- Is the physical breakdown into smaller pieces without changing the chemical compostion.
    Chemical Weathering- Breaking down rock with changing it's chemical compostion.

     An example of both Erosion and Weathering would be the picture above. This was caused by sand and wind coming together and wearing down the middle. There is a possibility, since deserts were oceans back in prehistoric times, that water could have played a part in this.
